Minnesota Solar Energy Industries Association Chooses Dooling to Lead Organization’s Push to Grow the Solar Industry and Further Advance Minnesota’s Clean Energy Transition
The Minnesota Solar Energy Industries Association (MnSEIA) announced Griffin Dooling of Blue Horizon Energy has been elected as the association’s next President of the Board of Directors. Dooling previously served as Vice President of the MnSEIA Board since 2019.
“I am thrilled to welcome Griffin as our new Board President,” said Logan O’Grady, Executive Director of MnSEIA, “Griffin has been a member of the Board through years of substantial change, growth, and success for our industry. His institutional knowledge and industry perspective will be extremely valuable to me, our staff, and our entire industry as we continue to Move Minnesota Solar Forward.”
Under the mission to grow the solar and energy storage industry as part of Minnesota’s clean energy transition, MnSEIA’s work revolves around four pillars: sustainable market development, legislative action, policy advocacy, and membership coordination. Expanding the use of solar energy and energy storage in Minnesota serves the public interest by creating long-term economic and environmental savings while building family-supporting jobs.
Among MnSEIA’s recent victories was the organization’s involvement in the legislative passage of $31 million dollars of solar incentive programs earlier this year, including substantial grant programs for K-12 educational institutions and community colleges to pursue solar energy.
“MnSEIA has been on the forefront of the legislative and policy efforts that make solar so successful in our state,” says Dooling. “Solar in Minnesota is practical and accessible to businesses, individuals, and communities in large part because of the work of this organization. Over the past several years our board has developed a comprehensive strategic plan for the future of our industry and I look forward to working with MnSEIA’s staff, members, and partners to implement this vision as we accelerate toward a clean energy future.”
