The owner of Prairie Gold Farms embraced on-site solar power generation early, and they embraced it in a big way: Prairie Gold Farms was the first in the state of Minnesota to install Dual Axis Trackers. Their farm includes several outbuildings and even more grain silos, and this was all evident in their monthly utility bills. Like many farmers, they preferred to see growth happening in their fields, not in their bills.
By installing the first six dual-axis trackers in Minnesota, Prairie Gold Farms is now able to generate on average 69,700 kilowatt-hours of electricity every year, saving them over $213,000 on their utility bills all while the system is still under warranty.
